MARKET MONITOR A graphic guide to the off-trade

04 May, 2007

London, central England and Lancs/Borders have the biggest volume share of the off-trade, but these regions also show the slowest volume growth during the same period. London's off-trade grew liquor volumes by 2 per cent, central England by 3 per cent and the Lancs/Borders TV region by 1 per cent. The fastest growing volume sales were enjoyed in south/south east England, eastern England and Yorkshire; all three saw 6 per cent volume growth, with the north east and south west of England following closely behind at 5 per cent. Nielsen figures also show the Lancashire/Borders region has the highest volume share for long drinks and spirits (15 per cent for both), while London tops the figures for wine (19 per cent).
