Tesco shows off the best from Scotland

Scotch whisky distillers will be exhibiting at a three-day event designed by Tesco to showcase the best of Scottish produce.

More than 30,000 visitors are expected to attend Enjoy the Taste of Scotland , which will include 90 regional suppliers from across the country.

Gordon & MacPhail will show a selection of single malt Scotch whiskies including releases from the Benromach range and new malt whisky liqueur Dunkeld Atholl Brose. Mot Hennes sy's 10 Year Old and 15 Year Old Glenmorangie malt will be on show.

Blackwood's Distillery will be displaying its Vintage Dry Gin with cream liqueur Jagos. Ian MacLeod Distillers, Diageo and Crabbies will also attend.

"Household names and speciality producers from the drinks industry will come together to present their very own, individual taste of Scotland," a Tesco spokesman said.

The free event will take place on May 4-6 at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot.
