South West wines seminar at LIWSF

18 May, 2007

Wine Diet author Professor Roger Corder will host a seminar on the health benefits of wines from South West France on Tuesday, May 22 at the London wine fair.

Corder will share his research at 4pm on the South West France stand, H40/2. For the second year running, wine and eaux de vie producers - encompassing 18 wine appellations including Béarn, Cahors and Coteaux du Quercy - will present their consolidated approach.

Six producers will be present at the stand and a selection of 65 wines and Armagnacs will be available to taste. A range of South West AOCs, VDQSs and Vins de Pays will be showcased together, with particular emphasis on Madiran and Armagnac, due to both Corder's findings on Madiran and separate research on the health benefits of Armagnac.

South West Wines is offering four OLN readers the chance to win two cases each of wine from the region. Just answer the following question correctly:

Q. What are the three main grape varieties used to make Cahors AOC?
