Snake Bite makes a fruity change

01 June, 2007

Cobra Beer is launching a range of lagers called Cobra Bite, flavoured with natural fruit extracts in Sweet Lime, Blood Orange, Apple and Lemongrass flavours. The brand is on trial in Tesco before being rolled out to the on

and off-trade.

The 4.3 per cent abv lager is brewed with barley malt, yeast, rice and hops, and fruit extracts are added after brewing . Cobra said this makes them less challenging than Belgian fruit beers.

The beers come in 4x25cl single-flavour packs, rrp £3.74, and will be backed by in-store promotions alongside promotions on Cobra's other brands.

Cobra Bite is also sponsoring the new collection launch party for women's fashion shop Warehouse and the 500th anniversary party for women's consumer magazine More, and will be featured on break bumpers as part of Cobra's £1.2 million sponsorship of ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4.

Marketing manager Zoe Smith said: "We're excited about Cobra Bite as we feel it will offer consumers something truly different to anything currently on the market in that they are highly drinkable, premium quality fruit-flavoured lagers. We anticipate the range will prove particularly popular with experimental drinkers looking for a refreshing and different lager."
