La Mare invests in Jersey distillery

01 June, 2007

La Mare Wine Estate has invested £1.5 million in a redevelopment of its Jersey-based distillery and winery.

Opening on June 6, it will enable the estate to quadruple production of its flagship brand La Mare Jersey Cream Liqueur and its liqueurs in blackcurrant, orange and raspberry flavours.

"Increased productivity and efficiency were the driving factors behind the investment," according to a spokesman. The estate will now be able to distil over two hectolitres every 12 hours, enabling the entire apple brandy harvest to be distilled in three months, he added.
