Irn-Bru has fun with beach goths

Irn-Bru is launching a TV and cinema ad to push summer sales.

Called Goth Holiday and shot on location in Blackpool, the ad will run until the end of July on terrestrial TV channels across Scotland and on satellite channels nationally. It will also screen in cinemas from July until the end of September.

Outdoor poster ads and PR activity featuring the goth characters will back the launch.

Adrian Troy, head of marketing for Barr Soft Drinks, said: "The new advert presents an alternative take on the traditional summer holiday theme with some very entertaining results.

"We've had some playful fun with the beach experience and the characters involved to show that I rn-B ru is the perfect way to uplift your mood and make the most of the summer months."

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle ľ which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
