Pixley Berries cordials have secured listings in Waitrose. Made from 60 per cent natural blackcurrant juice and available in 50cl bottles (rrp 2.99), the range includes Blackcurrant & Scottish Raspberries, Blackcurrant & Elderflower and Blackcurrant & Cox's Apples.

Brecon Carreg is launching a 1-litre sports cap bottle in July. It will also roll out promotional packs including 15-for-12 on the 75cl sports cap, 12-for-9 on 1.5-litre still and 24-for-20 on the 50cl still Brecon Carreg Natural Mineral Water.

Yazoo has joined forces with the Rugby Football Union. The RFU Yazoo Tag Rugby Programme is run by RFU coaches and will include 25,000 training sessions each year into schools. Yazoo is also sponsoring more than 50 regional Tag Rugby festivals throughout the UK.

Lifting the spirits

I were to sum up alcohol sales over Christmas 2017 in one word, it would be “gin”. At Nielsen, we define the Christmas period as the 12 weeks to December 30 and in that time gin sales were £199.4 million, which means they increased by £55.4 million compared with Christmas 2016.
