Whisky galore for winner

OLN has teamed up with Grant's Scotch whisky to help six lucky retailers prepare for Fathers' Day on June 17.

Around Fathers' Day, sales of blended whisky rise by as much as 15 per cent, according to Nielsen to Feb 24 2007. "Retailers need to make sure they're well stocked with Grant's Family Reserve to take advantage of the sales uplift," a spokeswoman says.

Grant's is still family owned by an independent Scottish company and was recently declared Best Standard Blended Scotch in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2007. The company will be driving additional sales around Fathers' Day with gift boxes and PR activity.

To be in with a chance of winning a case of six 70cl bottles of Grant's Family Reserve, packaged in presentation gift boxes, just answer the following question:

Grant's is produced in which country?

Send your answer with your name, address and telephone number, by June 15, to: OLN/Grant's competition, Katie Wallace, Touch

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
