Soplica Vodka packs a punch

Soplica Vodka is sponsoring a series of boxing events in the UK which will broadcast live on Sky Sports.

The sponsorship will be the Polish vodka brand's first large-scale exposure to a TV audience, and marks the beginning of a year of marketing and PR activity designed to raise awareness of the brand in the UK.

Soplica will be supporting the sponsorship with newspaper competitions and local marketing. Michal Gierak, joint managing director of Ocean Spirits, said: "We believe that involvement in a major sporting event is a great way of supporting our listings by exposing the brand to a larger number of consumers. We are confident that Soplica brand recognition and sales will benefit greatly."

The first Soplica-sponsored boxing match between Barry Morrison and Colin Lynes took place on June 8, with Lynes winning the title of British Light Welterweight Championship.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle ľ which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
