Four Roses for UK from Jim Rutledge

15 June, 2007

American master distiller Jim Rutledge is launching Four Roses Bourbon in the UK.

The range includes a 90-proof premium bourbon called Four Roses Small Batch, Yellow Label and Single Barrel, which are all made at the Four Roses distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.

Rutledge is flying over from the US to host bourbon master classes in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Brighton and London - the four cities where Four Roses

has been trialled.

Rutledge, who is current chairman of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, said: "There's no doubt that the single-barrel and small-batch craze has pulled this industry up by its bootstraps. Four Roses is quickly earning a reputation as one of the finest names in the bourbon world."

Agreeing to disagree

Disagreeing about wine is a fact of wine-trade life, like drugs in sport or corruption in politics. Because taste is entirely subjective, debates about our personal preferences are as inevitable as they are interminable. Indeed, these long-winded, wine-fuelled arguments are precisely what make our jobs so much fun.
