New bottling line for Britvic factory

29 June, 2007

Britvic has opened a £7.5 million production line

to enter the pure fruit juice category.

Based at its Rugby factory, the new line

can fill up to 36,000 bottles an

hour.

Britvic's

line does not require preservatives to be added as bottle sterilisation, product pasteurisation and filling is done in a sealed and sterile environment.

The first two

juices

will be Robinsons Smooth Juice and Robinsons Fruit Shoot 100 per cent juice. Launching this summer, both

will be available in three flavours - Orange, Apple and Apple & Blackcurrant - with one bottle

claiming to contain one of the five recommended daily portions of fruit and vegetables.

Robinsons has signed a two-year deal to become the first

sponsor of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year event. The link-up will also include sponsorship of the Unsung Hero Award category .

Richard Hemming MW: beware inverse snobbery

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
