Scottish focus for spring water ad

Strathmore Spring Water has

released its first TV ad as part of a £1 million marketing push .

Shot in Glasgow and using the tagline

From the Vale of Strathmore, the ad focuses on the brand's Scottish heritage.

Adrian Troy, head of marketing at Barr Soft Drinks, said: "Through computer-generated imagery and our athletic cast,

the commercial reflects the brand's core values as it invigorates and energises whil e being fresh and unpretentious and very definitely Scottish."

Barr Soft Drinks, which

bought the Strathmore brand for £15 million last year, will also be rolling out a marketing campaign targeting 18 to 34-year-olds throughout the summer.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
