Fun is a 14-letter word

13 July, 2007

I'd just like to say a big hello to all Thresher staff who now have to type in 14 keys to the EPoS every time we need to put through a sale (staff code eight digits, password four digits and the Esc button twice).

HELLO! Though, perhaps to make it more fun we could use 14-letter words instead of boring old numbers, eg microbreweries, snaggletoothed, plethysmograph, wafflestompers or nymphomaniacal. Just a suggestion.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle ľ which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
