Gum takes to the waves with Claygate

26 July, 2007

Wrigley's Airwaves has signed a sponsorship deal with the Claygate Offshore Powerboat team.

The link-up

includes ITV4 TV coverage and the chance to

reach 150,000 spectators every season.

The initial one-year deal marks the next phase in the Airwaves Pro campaign, which also includes

title sponsorship of the Airwaves Ducati Superbikes team.

Airwaves' current marketing campaign also

features an interactive website - airwaves-pro.tv - where sports professionals, including England rugby player Lewis Moody and

top cricketer Liam Plunkett, discuss extreme sports.

Wrigley's marketing director Toby Baker said: "Many Airwaves consumers are thrill-seekers and our continued association with extreme sports allows us to bring the Airwaves brand communications to life."

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
