Peroni hopes Ferrari promotion will help drive sales

22 August, 2007

Peroni Nastro Azzuro has teamed up with Ferrari for its latest promotion.

Fifty cash and carry customers are being given the chance to drive a Ferrari around a racetrack by entering a special Peroni prize draw.

The Peroni promotional team has been visiting cash and carries across the country, accompanied by a Ferrari to encourage customers to take part.

Mike Bradley, store manager at Makro in Charlton, one of the depots visited by the team said:"It really created a buzz around the store, it was something a little different. The staff and customers were really enthusiastic about the competition and it even helped increase Peroni sales which was great.

Cash and carry staff who create the best Peroni display will win 1,000 with 500 for the runner up and the store with the best sales will win a luxury trip for two to Rome.

Both the cash and carry store incentive and the customer competition results will be announced in mid September.

Talking terroir

When Bordeaux was in fashion, it seemed almost logical that we should fetishise winemakers. Here were people responsible for brilliant acts of blending, across large estates and multiple grape varieties, including superstars such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot. These days, fashion has moved on and pinot noir is ascendant. As a result, the star of the winemaker has fallen and we find ourselves following a new star in the sky: terroir.
