23 August, 2007

David Jones has taken over as head of the BWS division at Waitrose following Mark Williamson’s appointment to the company’s management board.

Jones, who has spent the past two years as deputy partners’ counsellor at the John Lewis Partnership, will also be responsible for grocery buying at the supermarket chain.

He will be supported by Justin Howard-Sneyd MW who will continue to manage the wine buying team and Giles Fisher who remains central buyer for beers and spirits.

Jones, who has worked at the John Lewis Partnership for 25 years, said: “I am delighted to join the BWS team, and looking forward to building on the excellent reputation that we already have for our range. We will work together to achieve and maintain the unrivalled quality and diversity we offer our customers. Innovation will continue to remain key in our selection.”
