New look for strong seller

J Wray & Nephew is rolling out Cognac-based Alizé Bleu in new-look packaging.

The slimmer, taller bottle has a redesigned logo and a description of the variant on the front label. Brand manager Karen Lucking said: "We repackaged Alizé Red Passion, Gold Passion and Wild Passion in June and planned to follow this with a re-packaging for Bleu next year. But sales have been so strong we have had to bring this forward for the UK trade."

The repackaging coincides with the launch of Alizé's newly designed UK website, alize.com.

Few things can bring communal pleasure so intimately as wine. Apart from a hot tub, perhaps. Sport can trigger mass jubilation, film gives us shared empathy, but wine has a nigh-unique ability to bestow conviviality among us through a shared bottle – which makes it especially galling that we spend so much time divided over it.
