Sparkling Yellow Tail launched in UK

06 September, 2007

Yellow Tail has launched its first sparkling wine in the UK. Yellow Tail Bubbles has gone on sale in Waitrose stores for £5.24, 25 per cent less than its usual price.

John Casella, managing director of brand owner Casella Wines, said: "Bubbles has been a huge success in Australia and Japan and we are really excited about launching it into the UK market.

"We now have seven wines available in the UK and they are all proving incredibly popular with UK wine drinkers."

UK distributor Off-Piste Wines plans to expand the distribution of the Australian brand into the cash and carry sector, and has just appointed Phil Poulter - formerly of Gallo - as its on-trade specialist.

Off-Piste has also secured a number of major listings for its South African rosé wine Frozé - designed to be drunk over ice - and has range extensions and marketing activity planned for the next few months.

Off-Piste was set up by former Western Wines sales directors Paul Letheren and Ant Fairbank. For more information, call 01242 229630 or see
